We're looking for a motivated, dependable Machine Operator to join our production team in Waterloo.
The OpportunityReporting to the Production Leads, you'll operate production equipment, manufacture and inspect components, and help ensure customer orders are completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
This hands-on position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation & Production- Operate flatbed press machines and other production equipment.
- Work with hot-melt adhesives and perform component assembly.
- Monitor and troubleshoot die-cutting, stamping, kiss-cutting and heat-press equipment.
- Perform machine changeovers and maintain efficient production runs.
- Review production tickets, instructions and relevant non-conformance reports.
Quality Control & Inspection- Verify that the correct materials are being used.
- Complete first-off inspections, checking dimensions, tolerances and visual quality.
- Inspect finished components for accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
- Report equipment issues, product defects or other irregularities promptly to supervisors.
Packaging & Documentation- Package finished products according to customer specifications.
- Prepare labels and complete required production documentation.
- Use hand trucks and other material-handling equipment as required.
- Maintain clean, safe and organized workstations.
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork- Identify opportunities to improve production quality and efficiency.
- Follow established work instructions and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with production colleagues to meet daily requirements.
Qualifications & ExperienceWe're looking for someone who brings:
- At least one year of experience in production, machine operation or assembly.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and physical dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings and follow work instructions.
- Mathematical skills equivalent to a minimum Grade 12 level.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to perform both repetitive and varied tasks.
- A collaborative, dependable and team-oriented approach
An Asset: Familiarity with automotive industry quality standards and manufacturing tolerances.
